January 4th 1942: By now, I'm pretty sure my mother found my note and is well aware of where I am. I've been in Europe for almost a month now, and still have found no sign of Sarah. She told me she was staying in London in her letter this week. I've looked in every hotel I could find, I was even kicked out of one, (which to be honest made my day today.) I walked around freezing my fingers off when all of a sudden, I saw her, just walking down the street. I was running towards her when all of a sudden a bus pulls up and the next thing I know, I'm chasing down a bus for the next 10 minutes before it finally escaped me. She was gone and now I have to search deeper into Europe. I decided to retire for today so I went back to my hotel and caught up on what was happening back in America. According to the news, there is a pass in order to eliminate all alien enemies. Then I heard that the Japanese were developing some kind of super weapon called the A6M2, which was some kind of s

January 17th 1940: Germany has gotten way out of hand with all of these land claims. I'm afraid if this keeps up that our country will end up in this war. My mother worries about my brother, she is scared that he will go to war, and who could blame her? After what happened to my father, I'm also concerned about this. However I'm sure that as long as nothing bad happens to us, our involvement in this war will remain at none.
November 22nd 1941: I have received plenty of shock for a lifetime in a one day sitting. First the love of my life decides to go to Europe. She told me she wanted to explore the other side of the world and not to take it personally. I like how exotic she is and I wouldn't mind as much if there wasn't a national crisis going on over there! "Don't worry about me." She said, "I promise nothing will happen to me and to write letters to you regularly. Please understand that I crave adventure and just living my life which is why when I come back I'll be as ha

September 3, 1939: It has been 2 days since this tragedy began, 2 days after Germany invaded Poland. Ever since then the news has spread from Japan to Africa and to here, The United States of America where I'm from. My name is Leon Marson; I was born in Milton, Vermont on July 22 of 1920. I am a recent graduate in high school (the class of 1938) and I currently have a part-time job in a music store. Hearing about all this chaos somehow made me want to start writing a journal. I don't know why I just think I'll need it. In this music store I clean out and fix old beaten-up instruments such as saxophones, guitars, flutes, things like that. I have brown medium length hair, meaning it covers my ears but the top goes down to my eye-brows. I have a brother in the military, Larry Marson. My sister Lisa Marson died in a car accident 3 years ago and today would have been her 16th birthday. I think she's glad she doesn't have to see all this chaos going on in Poland. She liked to st

"She is just amazing." Alex said to himself as he put his biology textbook in his locker. He turned around, his back facing his locker, and slowly slid down until he was sitting. He continued staring at her, Madison Sorris, the prettiest girl in the 10th grade.
"I don't know what you see in her dude." Alex's friend Derek said walking up next to him. "You've been after this girl all year, texting me all the time about how you wish she was yours. Have you even talked to her?" Derek opened his locker and grabbed his jacket.
"Of course I have, we are friends but I just wish there was something I could do to make us more than that." Alex stood back up, gripping his backpack handle. "It's just, I feel like if I ask her out it could ruin everything."
"Well." Derek said, "Prom is tonight. You should just ask her and stop torturing yourself by never knowing. "
"What if she already has a date, pretty much everyone else does."
"She told me that she didn't." Derek replied. "She sai
